Top 10 Shots of the 2013 Masters Part 2
Concluding our countdown of the top ten shots at this years Masters Tournament at Augusta...
Bo Van Pelt's Hole-Out for Eagle at 15 on Day Four
In the final round in the 2012 Masters, Bo came from miles down the leaderboard with a gob-smacking 64 including a hole-in-one at 16, and he tried to emulate his final day heroics again this year. His holed-out approach to the 15th nabbed him another Augusta National final day eagle, and playing partner Sergio Garcia then tried to follow him in from similar range and came agonisingly close to doing so.
Luke Donald's Final Day Bunker Hole-Out on 16
Luuuuuukkkkeeee may not got himself in the mix this weekend, but his hole-out from the bunker on 16 will have compensated somewhat, and it gave the Augusta faithful an excuse to bellow his name with typical gusto for one last time this year.
Scott's 'Winning' Putt on 18
After Jason Day's late slump on Sunday the path was left clear for Adam Scott to try and become the first Aussie to win the much-coveted green jacket, and he must have thought he had done so with his stunning 20 foot pressure-putt for birdie on 18. Big, bad, Angel had something to say about this though... (see below).
Cabrera's Stunning Final Round Approach to 18
As the rain continued to thwack down on the luxurious turf at the Augusta National late on Sunday evening, Angel Cabrera stepped up to play his approach shot to the 18th green knowing it had to go close if he was to force a play-off, and what a shot he came up with. His towering short iron from the middle of the fairway thrilled the on-looking patrons as it snuggled up cosily to the hole. If anything, the shot was unlucky not to find the cup!
Scott's Actual Winning Putt
Holing putts in sudden-death play-offs in majors has to be one of the hardest things to do in golf, but Scott with his broom-handled putter in-tow made it look all too easy. Having seen Cabrera miss his birdie putt on the 10th hole by a whisker, Scott knew he had a chance and went for the jugular. The putt dropped, and history was made.
Rory McIlroy took another huge leap towards recapturing the form which made him famous on the golf course – with his lowest score in more than four years – a 9-under 63 while playing with Tiger Woods...
Golfers will be falling over each other to make the cut before this week’s Dubai Desert Classic kicks off as they will earn the opportunity to have a shot at an incredible $2.5million hole-in-one prize...
