Stricker Has Decisions To Make

After a stonking run of form including a runner-up finish at the Deutsche Bank, Steve Stricker has been left with a serious decision to make. To go elk hunting, or not to go elk hunting?

The former world number two who has been in fine fettle of late, has gone into 'semi-retirement' this season and had announced plans to miss the Tour Championship preferring instead to go on an elk hunting trip with his pals.

Though he only opted in for a couple of FedEx events in a bid to make the President's Cup team, his good form seems to be rubbing off on him, and for the first time last night there were signs that he might yet backtrack.

He said following his second placed finish at the Deutsche Bank: "I’m not sure about Atlanta yet, If I’m up in there and have a chance to win or top 10 going into Atlanta, I’ll probably go to Atlanta.”

Though softening his stance a little, it is clear that it would be a wrench for Stricker to go back on his 'bucket list' plans: “I’ve never done it [elk hunting] before and it’s been on my to do list to try and this was going to be the year to do it.”

Perhaps the whiff of $10 million is starting to have its way with the old boy, and that is exactly what it's meant to do.

When the FedEx Cup playoffs came into being, they did so to entice the world's best players to give it their all for one final, arduous burst in the season, and it will be interesting to see if the lure of the cash, and the prestige finally breaks Stricker.

One thing's for sure Steve, the elk can wait. In fact, they're probably whacking out the bunting and the party poppers in the wake of your decision wavering...
