SPOTY Vote Ends in Disappointment for Justin Rose
Justin Rose endured a disappointing Sports Personality of the Year award 2013 last night when the voting revealed he had received just 1% of the votes, leaving him ninth in the ten person list.
Andy Murray won the award with 56% of the overall vote thanks to his historic Wimbledon victory, the first for a Briton in 77 years. Runner-up was Wales and British & Irish Lions rugby player Leigh Halfpenny, with jockey AP McCoy coming in third.
Murray was always favourite as winner last night, but for Rose, who became the first Englishman to ever win at the US Open, it has to hurt a little.
